I am not 100% sure if I have sleep apnea or not. If I do, it is most likely obstructive sleep apnea. In the past two years, I have woken up in the middle of the night gasping for air. This has happened two times. I do not snore or drink, and I am not overweight. For the past few months, I have been having daytime fatigue every single day, even though I am getting enough sleep. I heard that sleeping on your back just makes it worse because the muscles in the back of the throat collapse, making it harder to breathe. Before I started getting sleepy during the daytime, I always slept on my side and never was tired when I was awake. But ever since I started sleeping on my back, I have been tired every day. Does this mean I have sleep apnea? Also, I have been trying to get back into the habit of sleeping on my side, but I can never fall asleep. I have tried this dozens of times. Is there anything I can do?
