well my husband has sleep ap. and you can stop breathing in your sleep. and you can get to the point of falling asleep while your driving. and it can affect you heart and blood pressure. so its very important that you stick to what your doc says. my husband uses a cpap machine and it really helps.
Well I have mild sleep apnea and I will tell you how dangerous it is. You stop breathing at night, for 10-25 seconds at a time…..this puts strain on your heart, making it work harder, raising your blood pressure. NOT GOOD> It also limits the amount of good quality sleep you get because you are always waking up (you might not even notice) to start breathing again. It can lead to heart disease…which I have and I was only 38 when diagnosed. High blood pressure….me again. I have an apap, and when I wear it all night, I sleep great, feel great, the one night I don’t wear it, it’s like I never slept….and believe me, being a single mom, and dating, I don’t wear it every night…wink wink. Please do what your doctor says, and wear the mask if you have to. It WILL help and it could save your life.
Hope this helps,
Jodie
