I think its the other way around:
Sleep apnea causes high blood pressure. Being overweight can cause sleep apnea AND high blood pressure though.
This one is the other way around, sleep apnea can contribute to high blood pressure.
high blood pressure does not cause sleep apnea. sleep apnea is caused by soft tissue closing over the airway during sleep. this is typically seen in overweight persons (but not always) because they have soo much more fat tissue. as for it causing high blood pressure, there really isn’t any evidence to support that. people who are morbidly obese have high blood pressure because of their horrendous diet.
It’s usually the other way around. Sleep apnea can have an effect on high blood pressure and the inability to lose weight among several other conditions. The major effect of sleep apnea is the drop in oxygen levels in the blood, which can cause a myriad of other symptoms and long term problems.
High blood pressure, probably wouldn’t have an effect on your breathing at night.
