I’m a black female, 47, recently gained a lot of weight due to some medications I’m on, but I’m not really obese. A year ago, I realized I’d become lactose intolerant. It got so bad a few months ago, I took dairy out of my diet completely unless I took Lactaid. I got lax recently and noted something: during the two recent periods where I allowed myself a lot of dairy without the supplement, I had something like sleep apnea. When falling asleep, I would snort, make odd noise that would cause me to wake up, and my throat often felt mucousy. Normally, I don’t have this. Someone (not a doctor) once told me a long time ago that many people of African descent are lactose intolerant, and that it causes excess mucous. Is that likely what’s going on with me? I seem to breathe and sleep better when I leave off the dairy.
I guess the most salient point here is that I never had anything resembling sleep apnea in the past, nor do I have those symptoms now unless I do the dairy.

For the past two days now I go to bed around 12 and wake up about every 2-5 secounds feeling dizzy and i need to catch my breath. Then I take an advil and go to bed and I am fine, at least think I am.

I read online and it said that people over weight get this. I am not overweight. I am 14 and I weigh about 115 pounds. And you need your tonsils removed? I got mine removed when I was 4!
Is there any other treatments they can give me?

There is two kinds of this, right?
obsturctive and central.
It says for obsturctive that the air flow is blocked. What is it blocked by?
and how can you tell which one you have?

Thanks so much, I am really worriedd!

Hutch, 91, can breath better than he can remember after just the first treatment. Follows him through 4 visits during a series of cranial adjustments (NCR). NeuroCranial Restructuring is a cranial therapy using endo nasal balloons that yeilds amazing changes in the shape of your sinus’s allowing you to breath like you couldn’t imagine. Many who are prescribed PCAP machines don’t use them due to the irritation. Increased nasal cavity means more oxygen and more regeneration for the body especially important during sleep. After his sleep study . We also find people have normal sinus drainage and often find chronic sinusitis a thing of the past. Dr. Lieurance is one of only 2 doctors in the state of Florida, sarasota, that perform this amazing treatment. Call (941) 330 8553 or visit www.advancedwellness.us for more infoAlso using neuroscience for neurotransmitter testing for dopamine, serotonin, gaba, acetyl choline, histamine, tauren, glycine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, hormones such as cortisol, dhea, testosterone, estrogen, dht, progesterone, for specific areas of interest or for anti aging for longevity and vitality.

Basically this concern is about fasiculations and some other symptoms. Here’s a quick background, I’m 19 years old, 156lbs 5’10” with anxiety issues. I was currently on Claravis (isotretinoin), for moderate acne. I then developed some sleeping problems, which I thought was central sleep apnea, not sure yet of that. So the doctor was unsure, and he believed that I might have nocturnal asthma. He gave me Advair Diskus, and Albuterol Sulfate. I took them both, but did more of the Albuetrol, about a week treatment. As soon as the muscle fasiculations started, I stopped both Accutane, and the Albuterol and the advair.

So here’s the issue now. I’ve been reading about fasiculations, and wherever I read they point to BFS or ALS. I’m very health anxious so immediately thought that I might in-fact have ALS. I didn’t notice any muscle weakness or any other symptoms at first , but because I worried about it, I began to go on jogs, and lift weights. I don’t ever workout so, after I did the exercises I was feeling kinda of sore. As the anxiety kept building up, I went to the urgent care doctor, there he told me my blood was good, however I was very dehydrated. I know when you’re dehydrated you don’t feel good and your body needs fluids. However, how long can you be dehydrated for and not know it? The fasiculations have been going on for little over a week now. 9 days to be exact. The second blood sample hasn’t came in yet. Any recommendations or help please! ANY!

I am a finalist in a contest to win a treadmill. You can vote 1x day through August 2nd. This boils down to a popularity contest, and I don’t have enough friends to help me win so I’m appealing to you for help.

http://bit.ly/simplydab (my name is simplydab)

Some of the people are trying to win because they have 30 pounds to lose. Some are trying to win because it’s what they do. I’m trying to win to literally change my quality of life. I’m morbidly obese (I have to lose more than 1/2 my body weight). In addition, I have rheumatoid arthritis in both knees, asthma, fluid retention problems and sleep apnea. I need to exercise more to lose weight, but I can’t do a lot of exercise because of my weight, asthma and knees – and I can’t walk outside in this heat/humidity. I was scheduled to have WLS this summer but it was postponed due to concerns about my legs (the fluid and also blood clots). It’s now been rescheduled for late fall.

Owning this treadmill would mean I could walk in my home (where it’s cool!) for short periods of time multiple times a day, improving my lung function, leg circulation, etc. As my health improved I could walk for longer periods of time, and after my WLS this would be a vital piece of equipment for me to not only help lose my excess weight, but tone my body and sustain the weight loss.

Please don’t use this appeal as an opportunity to publically bash me – I get it all day, every day from the time I get out of bed in the morning until the time I go to sleep at night. You can not make me feel worse about myself than I already do. I’m hoping that there are still people out there that would lend a virtual hand to a complete stranger and help someone who is trying to help themselves, but can’t do it on their own.

Note, this is a once-a-day vote – you can come back after 24 hours and vote for me (simplydab) again. Also, if you have multiple computers/internet devices, you can vote on each of them so please put those laptops, smartphones, etc. to work!

I appreciate you taking the time to read all this, and any help you give me. If I can ever return the favor, please let me know.

Product Description
RealSleep is a CD you play while you’re going to sleep. Created by a neuroscientist and an award-winning musician, it uses nearly-inaudible sounds embedded in music to work in three ways: it triggers feelings of sleepiness, enables the mind to relax, and helps the brain create the kind of waves associated with falling asleep. No other product does all three.

The result is going to sleep faster, staying asleep longer, and getting better, more restful sleep. In clini… More >>

Having suffered for many years with sinus trouble or chronic sinusitis he was refered to Dr.Lieurance, Cranial expert, for NCR or NeuroCranial Restructuring by another physician. She tried nasal spray’s steroids, turbinate surgery, or resection, septal correction for deviated septum among other treatments with limited results. Used a CPAP for sleep apnea and snoring. By adjust the sphenoid using endonasal balloons along with specific body positions. This is a functional neurological treatment that allows better communication with the inner ear or semicircular canals. Also fee’s up the area around the ear for better circulation to help speed healing through acupuncture meridians and lymphatic drainage of the ear organs responsible for balance. There is also cerebellar correction that improves frequency of firing of shunt stabilization to spine and postural stabilizer muscles which communicate to the ear and brain to maintain proper balance under gravity. in This treatment was first discovered by Stober ND then Dean Howell refined the technique. Dr. Lieurance is a Chiropractor and Naturopath in sarasota, Florida. Advanced Wellness Center is the 3rd largest Holistic center in the state of Florida. Some of the special services we offer besides NCR is Acupuncture and chiropractic are, Pettibon, Class 4 laser (k-laser) Prolotherapy, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy, EWOT or exercise with oxygen, nutrition, homeopathy, herbal medicine, kinesiotaping, cold and class 4 laser therapy …

Since I have gained weight (close to 45 lbs, yikes) I have noticed that on some nights, I will be falling asleep or have just fallen asleep, when I cannot breathe and wake up. Then I am able to breathe again just fine and reposition myself and go back to sleep. It does not happen very often. But something that has been happening every few days, is that I am almost asleep, or have just fallen asleep, and my heart begins to beat at an extremely rapid pace; so fast that I cannot even count the beats and I get very scared. But then I sit up and after a few minutes, my heart beat will return to normal and I am able to go back to sleep. Could this be Sleep Apnea? Can Sleep Apnea cause damage to my heart? I am working hard to lose weight and have completely changed my eating habits: I’ve cut down considerably on my caffeine and only eat fruits, vegetables, lean meats, low-fat dairy and whole grains (occassionally). Does anyone know what this might be? I do not lay there and worry or think about anything at night, but could it be an anxiety attack or possibly Asthma?
