Im 16 and i want to know why im this tired ?
Im 16 old girl and all i do is sleep it makes me not want to do any thing. Its not like a normal growing teens thing well at least i don’t think it is. because i sleep at night but i wake up allot during the nights to get drinks and stuff. I also sleep in school then after school i go take a nap. the only way i will wake up after school is if some one makes me. I went to a sleep diagnosis place and they said i don’t have sleep apnea. i got blood work done and they say im not anemic and im not diabetic then my doctor just stopped trying to help me. So i guess i need to find out whats wrong with me so does any one have a clue to what it could be.

Are you depressed? that’s a big sign of depression.
go to the doctor, this is not a good thing you could have a brain tumor
Either your heart isnt pumping blood as well as it should be or you have mono.
It could be your diet?
Do you exercise alot? because if you do that can leave you very tired, it’s ironic how lack of exercise can also leave you feeling lethargic.
Do you have a set routine, as in what time you go to bed etc:?
maybe you should look into changing your lifestyle?
If not, pester your dr until he listens.
Before you go to bed at night get a drink. After I take a nap i feel sleepy its normal. Go and do something, run, bike ride something that’s gets you going. That will help get energy so you don’t wan’t to sleep.
dont worry this happens to me all the time and i am 16 too so what i think you should do is splash cold water on your face and exersize this is what i do and it helps alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
what about your thyroid? or possibly mono??
it could be mono?
or depression.
but im thinking mono,
do you have a fever, or get the chills, sore throat?
those are all symptoms of having mono.
Medical researchers do not know what causes chronic fatigue syndrome, a disorder that afflicts tens of thousands of people in the United States. Hard to diagnose, doctors will tell you that you have chronic fatigue syndrome if you have suffered from constant tiredness for six months and all other possible diseases and condition have been ruled out. Chronic fatigue syndrome occurs more in women than in men, and causes those afflicted with it to be unable to perform normal tasks at home and in the workplace without tiring quickly and it is often accompanied by short-term memory loss. The treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome focuses on the symptoms only, which can improve over time.
Symptoms of chronic fatigue (CFS)
Definition
A state of chronic fatigue, exhaustion and tiredness during the day that lasts more than six months and that cannot be explained by a physical pathogenic cause.
Symptoms of CFS
It is important to note that exhaustion, tiredness during the day and a lack of energy and productivity are very unspecific symptoms and are very common among patients. Typical accessory symptoms of a fatigue syndrome (i.e., chronic fatigue syndrome) are:
Concentration disorders (also see other possible causes)
Sleep disorders and an excessive need to sleep
Subfebrile temperatures (i.e., a slight fever with no explicable cause of infection)
Swollen lymph nodes (mostly painful, especially in the shoulder area and the neck)
Muscle pain
Pain on one or both sides of the neck and inflammation of the pharynx
It is common to see depression symptoms and anxiety disorders. Due to the number and non-specific nature of these symptoms, it can be difficult to develop a differential diagnosis.
Wow that is strange. I mean getting all those tests done and finding out you don’t have anything.
You might want to consider seeing a different doctor. Also, start exercising more so that you have more energy throughout the day.
You need to make sure that you are taking care of yourself properly. Eat a big breakfast, a snack, lunch, a snack, dinner, and then a final snack before you go to sleep. People are supposed to eat 6 times a day to boost metabolism. Trust me, it’s good for you.
I wish you luck though, okay?

I would assume you are tired because of not sleeping well at night initially. Do you have lights on in your room at all when you sleep? I used to have a hard time making it through the night and would end up taking naps or feeling like garbage all day. I eliminated any lights in my room, especially computer monitors, and installed some blue neon’s. I’ve heard blue light studies and I tried it… Maybe I’m crazy but I sleep a million times better and I don’t seem in need of naps anymore. I don’t wake up during the night either. I could just be sensitive to light, but I am not sure. Just a thought!
If your parents have to wake you up to eat, or drink or something, if this happens for a few days then stops, then happens again another time, and later if your hearing becomes very sensitive, It could be klein-levin syndrome.
