how is central sleep apnea treated?

sleep test says non obstuctive sa. is this central sa. im on cpap. 4th mask. i cant get any pressure to go thru my nose but it has alot on my mouth. i use my nose only to breathe when i sleep. any advice.

I can’t use a C PAP.I tried for a month and gave up due to sleep deprivation. it doesn’t help anyway.
this is not obstructive. my air ways are open. it is more a neurological problem I think.

Two years ago my brother was admitted to the hospital for an electrolyte imbalance caused by many weeks of vomitting and dehydration. His sodium level on his admittance to the hospital was 96 and within a 36 hour time frame was increased to over 120. As a result of his treatment he now suffers from Central Pontine Mylenosis (CPM). He has struggled to learn to walk and talk again. He experiences issues with tremors that prevent him from writing, typing driving and feeding himself. He recently was also diagnosed with central sleep apnea as a direct result of CPM.

I am trying to find a support group for survivors of CPM, or anyone who has experienced this condition personally or know of someone who has CPM.

Does anyone have CENTRAL Sleep Apnea?

I was just diagnosed with Central Sleep Apnea and my doc says that i’m the only one in his practice that he has had to treat with this condition. It’s kinda freakin’ me out, i was just prescribed oxygen while i sleep and i’m still really young. i just want to know how rare this is and what types of other people have it. any info anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated! :o )

Can anyone with central sleep apnea or experience with central sleep apnea tell me if a common symptom is being startled out of sleep? For instance if someone wakes you up, rather than you waking up on your own, if you wake up panicked and gasping for air? Any input would be GREATLY appreciated =)

Thanks!

Do I have Obstructive or Central sleep apnea?

Ok so Ill jsut be sleeping and randomly every once in a while ill wake up not breathing. somtimes it happens when im sick and other times it will happen out of the blue.

does a CPAP cure central sleep apnea?

(sorry for the grammer and spelling)
So far i found out that tissues at the back of your throat are collapsing and that’s normal but the thing that prevents it from collapsing is the problem.

Well, my cousin’s son (infant) is having a problem breathing and some doctors said that there is something wrong with the brain (the neurons go to something, i don’t know; i’m sorry). The probable diagnosis was central end-peripheral sleep apnea or obstructive sleep apnea.
