Has anyone ever found out that they had sleep apnea through taking the sleep study? Is a Cpap always the recommended treatment? What other treatments are there? Has anyone found out what their sleeping problem was and felt 100x times better? Has it changed anyone’s life for the better? I have one coming up next Friday. I have been tired for as long as I can remember. I should have done this a long time ago. It has come in between everything in my life…friends, family, work, etc. I hope I can find some answers and start living a normal life and not feel tired every single day of my life!

My mother was diagnosed as bipolar about 5 years ago, after I had been out of her home several years. Previous diagnoses include depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, hypothyroidism, chronic insomnia, sleep apnea & hypoglycemia. She has visited half a dozen doctors to get these diagnoses. She continually cycles through taking medicine from 1 doctor as prescribed, to taking medicine from several docs who do not know she is doctor shopping, to all-herbal(and I mean like, 20 – 30 different supplements a day), to no medicine.
With each new diagnosis/treatment, she seems to believe that she has turned a corner. If I try to talk to her about behaviors that seem harmful, she becomes too tearful and sleepy to talk. Recently, she has done some very hurtful things. I’m beyond trying to confront her about it.
Does anyone have a similar situation that turned out well? I keep hoping for the best, but her behavior gets more erratic and hurtful as time goes by.

I’ve tried cleaning every part of the machine, tank, mask, hoses. (It has a passover humidifier) Changing the air filter, cleaning the room, the bedding, etc, hasn’t made any difference. It’s definitly the CPAP, not just another allergy, because if I don’t use it one night, the symptoms clear up, and return immediatley when it’s used again. Allergy meds don’t help at all! Can anybody relate or help me?

Has anyone ever had surgery for sleep apnea?

I’m considering having a procedure done that will take my tonsils out, remove my adnoids, reshape my palette, maybe cut out the back of my tongue, and possibly take out some fat from my throat. This surgery has a really long name that I can’t remember right now. Has anyone ever had to go through that and how are you sleeping now?

Does sleep apnea ever go away completely?

Husband was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2006. He lost 80 pounds,hd his oxygen checked weekly and stopped using cpap because he felt he was cured. He has gained some weight back and complains about not sleeping well.

Have you ever had surgery for sleep apnea?

Have you had surgery to treat sleep apnea? What was your experience like?

Have you tried the sleep apnea pillow? You may have used every conventional sleep apnea treatment there is, and you may be sick and tired of the disappointing results. This is why the pillow is worth a second look.

More and more people who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea are unsatisfied with the results of conventional methods of treatment. Yes, these treatments are capable of treating the condition, but leave you with other health problems. This is why an alternative is needed.
