The past 2 years I haven’t been sleeping well. I got a promotion at my job and have been really stressed out. I don’t know if stress is what is triggering it but it could be. The other night my hubby was in bed next to me. He said I stopped breathing twice in about 30 minutes. It went on for about 10 seconds. When we first got together I didn’t snore and slept through the entire night. I want some real life opinions before I go to the doctor.

How to stop my roommate from snoring?

My roommate snores, and it’s very annoying. Her snoring isn’t always regular either, sometimes it get’s VERY loud all of a sudden like a “CAH” sound, as if she’s hacking something up or gasping for air. (I asked her if she had sleep apnea, but she doesn’t know.) Are there any remedies or products that can help her snoring? Do those snore sprays or mouth washes work? I don’t think the nasal strips would work because she said she doesn’t breathe through her nose. (I think she consciously can, but not when she’s asleep.) For a while I made her sleep with an extra pillow to keep her head higher, and it worked a little.

Help! It bothers me so much I want to throw things at her!

Anyone find relief from their sleep apnea?

If so what method works best for you? Do you or anyone you know use a TAP device?

Long Term Problems from Sleep Apnea?

I had sleep apnea for 10 year before being diagnosed and starting treatment. I am now experiencing focus and concentration problems, and they are starting to effect my job. I have been using a C-PAP since diagnosis 10 years ago. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas what to do about it?

PS-My doctor put me on stratera, and I don’t have ADD or ADHD. Anyone else tried this?

Input from people with sleep apnea please.?

Did you try to lose excess weight to help? And did it? Or other remedies?

Or did you immediately get a CPAP machine? If so, did you notice improvement in your sleep and in how you feel on a daily basis?

Thanks.

Waking up from sleep gasping for breath- advice?

So, over the past few months, I have been waking from sleep (usually very soon after falling asleep) incredibly dizzy and gasping for breath. This happens every couple days, about. Self diagnosis: sleep apnea? I have no idea, I’d appreciate some advice. Should I go to the doctor? Is it dangerous?
Also: I’m of normal weight and don’t snore much, if at all.

I had a daughter 13yrs ago and she passed away because of S.I.D.S. and about 3-4yrs later I found out I had Sleep Apnea. I am wondering if I could have caused her to die because I didn’t know I already had a sleep problem that causes me to stop breathing same as S.I.D.S. where the baby stops breathing. I am pregnant again and am frightened this could happen again to me. Help.
Martha

I have sleep apnea and I am scheduled to have it done on March 27th. I am having done Genioglossal Advance, Hyoid Advance, Septoplasty and Bilateral Inferior Turbinectomy. I am really scared about the recovery and the pain afterwards. As of right now, I am always fatigued due to the apnea and also have really bad headaches almost every other day. I always have jaw pain and I cannot breath out of the left side of my nose. I really want to get better, but I am terrified at this point. Please help me. I am 24 years old.
I need to have this done because not being able to breath is causing other problems in my life like extreme fatigue, headaches, lack of energy etc. I really do not want to be attached to a breathing machine for the rest of my life. I am only 24 years old.
