If you are thinking that you may need to seek out the help of your doctor, do so. Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition that can lead to additional compilations as it goes on.
Nevertheless, you may still not be sure if you need to get help. One sign that you do is if your spouse is complaining about your snoring and just how loud it has gotten. In short, if they can not sleep well because of your snoring, it is time to get help. If you wake up at night and find yourself short of breath and you are not sure why, this can be a sign of a serious issue in that of central sleep apnea. If you find yourself facing pauses in your breathing during your sleep, or your spouse experiences this in you, it is also time to seek out the help you need. Finally, if you get to sleep at night and you just can’t understand why you are so tired during the day; this too can be an important consideration.

Question by pennypincher: Do sleep apnea treatments help someone if their sleep apnea is caused by chronic phlegm?
My husband says I snore sometimes and don’t sleep sound. Due to allergies, I have phlegm quite frequently and I think that is my problem. Will the c-pap machine do any good if that is the problem?

For those who suffer with sleep apnea, one simple solution maybe a sleep apnea pillow. These pillows are designed to encourage the user to sleep on their side, rather than the back, making breathing easier. The sleep apnea pillow which is normally in the shape of a triangle helps to support the head and elongate the neck to encourage the airways to remain open by keeping the tongue from falling back and blocking the airway.
What is sleep apnea and how does it affect you? It is a serious condition which causes a disruption of the flow of air to the lungs while you sleep. This causes pauses in breathing to occur frequently during the night and in severe cases cause the sufferer to stop breathing altogether. Sleep apnea pillows are specially designed to prevent this from happening by ensuring the airways are kept open by positioning the head and neck properly.

The doctor warned that not taking immediate remedial action for mild sleep apnea could make the situation worse and in the long term, prove fatal. I think I’ve been having mild sleep deprivation for as long as I can remember so I decided that another week or two won’t make matters any worse. A good night’s sleep would have to wait until I did some research of my own. To begin with, I decided to talk to a few friends about it as well as research the net for possible natural solutions. I’m really glad I did.

Ok well i have been going back forth to the doctors because im all ways tiered and i have really bad head aches! So the other day i went back to the doctor and we were talking about my sleep habits! I told her that i wake up all throughout the night and i am always tiered! It doesn’t matter what im doing im always trying my hardest to stay awake. My grades in school are suffering because of that. She was asking questions like do i snore i had to go see an ENT a few years back because of that and she did surgery! Im just very curious how to they diagnose sleep apnea? She mentioned that as a possibility! Don’t tell me i need more sleep i go to bed at 8 and i wake up constantly and during the day i take naps! So i know im getting enough sleep but im tiered of being tiered! Please tell me what you think it is and how they tell if you have sleep apnea!

I wake up and my heart is beating soooo fast, i start sweating and i feel like i’m going to faint. I feel that if the situation got any worse i would literally die, is this sleep apnea or a panic attack? I only awake from sleep with these symptoms, i never have them when i’m awake through out the day.
