I wake up and my heart is beating soooo fast, i start sweating and i feel like i’m going to faint. I feel that if the situation got any worse i would literally die, is this sleep apnea or a panic attack? I only awake from sleep with these symptoms, i never have them when i’m awake through out the day.

I also have to have oxygen hooked to my machine why do some people need oxygen and others don’t I am only 33 but yes I am overweight Does it get better

I asked the sleep tech when she woke me up after spending the night in the sleep clinic if I had Sleep Apnea. She said that she has never seen it so bad in someone so young. I’m in my early thirties.

How can i help my daughter sleep better?

My daughter is 10-Years-Old going on 11-Years-Old in like two months and she has asthma and also obstructive sleep apnea. She is not overweight or anything so its not a thing she has to lose weight. But the doctor has her on a albuterol inhaler and she started off doing well with that and then all of a sudden it stopped helping so he then set her up on a nebulizer and that do a better job. She also uses a cpap machine each time she sleep because she stops breathing and she usually takes it off because it was uncomfortable and needed a full face mask so the doctor got her one and she sleeps better with it. Now she sits up and sleep saying she just not getting any air but her oxygen levels are fine and we usually give her pillows to keep herself elevated and it helps but not good enough so i was wondering what other ways can we get her to sleep more comfortable? Me and my wife plan on making a doctor appointment for her on Monday. She is sleep now though and sleeping well and she usually wakes up after 2:00am.

Help with Doctors and PCOS?

So, my sister has recently complained about having irregular periods which she said started years ago but are becoming weirder and weirder. Our Dad died four years ago and both of our periods stopped (probably stress) mine is regular again, but hers is not. She’s 17 and weighs 223 pounds. (She doesn’t look like she should weigh nearly that much.) Anyways, she’s got a doctors appointment with our family doctor (a man) on January 7th, but wants to see an OBGYN. The catch is that she doesn’t want an internal exam, she refuses it. The point I’m getting at is this: Last night we researched possible diseases or infections she might have to cause this in her and we came up with polycystic ovary syndrome. It said that that also causes hirsutism (excess hair growth in women.) When we read this, my sister showed me her back and legs. She has thicker hair at the bottom of her back and on her thighs than she should. Her inner thighs are also a darker colour than normal. That’s another symptom of PCOS. So, we managed to come up with a probable diagnosis for her but now she has to see a doctor to find out for sure. She absolutely refuses to get an internal ANYTHING and she really doesn’t want to talk to our family doctor because he’s not a woman.

The websites we looked at said that low-dose birth control could easily solve this problem, so we thought maybe she could just request that? Or do you think she should express her concerns about PCOS to our doctor right away? Please help!

Help, info on sleep apnea?

So my friend and i were talking not too long ago and i mentioned that i always sleep bad, remember a dream about once a month at most, have really bad memory, and therefore think I have REM problems. He told me that i should look up stuff about Sleep Apnea. He said his dad died from that and that just in case, i should find out about it, so.. What are symptoms? Isnt Sleep Apnea when you have breathing issues during sleep? If so, i don’t believe i have to worry, but better safe than sorry. Also, i read that age matters — i’m 15
my friend said he had a stroke because of his sleep apnea 22 years ago (the friend is about 40)

My boyfriend has precognitive dreams almost every night. Sometimes he’ll dream of someone suffocating or being shot/stabbed.
The other night he woke me up by thrashing and gasping for air. His eyes were were rolled back and he was choking. I tried waking him up but it didn’t work; after that he got weak and started passing out, so I panicked and gave him mouth to mouth (yes I know its extremely stupid and dangerous to give mouth to mouth to someone who’s heart is beating or something, but i freaked!). It worked. I got air flowing again and he woke up gasping and scared….he said I saved his life.

Im afraid of how serious this is. What if next time no one is there to help, or i just don’t wake up? (he’s had a full out seizure once because of a serious precognition so it’s not like im just paranoid)
What do I do? What can be done to help him? is there any way to wake someone up from a precognitive dream?

I have moderate obstructive sleep disordered breathing with UARS and don’t know which machine would be better for me: the ResMed S9 AutoSet or the Respironics REMstar Auto.

Here is the data from my polysomnography:

- AHI = 4 events per hour
- Supine AHI = 3
- REM AHI = 6.6
- Obstructive apneas = 0
- Central apneas = 0
- Mixed apneas = 0
- Apnea Index = 0
- Central apnea index = 0
- Mixed apnea index = 0
- RDI = 26.5 events per hour
- Total respiratory arousals = 165
- Respiratory arousal index = 28.4
- Total RERAs = 131
- Rera = 22.6 per hour
- Arousal index = 49.9
- Arousals = 290
- Average duration of apnea/hypopnea events = 33.8 seconds
- Longest hypopnea = 54.9 seconds
- Less than 1% of sleep was spent in oxygen saturations less than 90%

Muscle twitches! HELP!?

Basically this concern is about fasiculations and some other symptoms. Here’s a quick background, I’m 19 years old, 156lbs 5’10” with anxiety issues. I was currently on Claravis (isotretinoin), for moderate acne. I then developed some sleeping problems, which I thought was central sleep apnea, not sure yet of that. So the doctor was unsure, and he believed that I might have nocturnal asthma. He gave me Advair Diskus, and Albuterol Sulfate. I took them both, but did more of the Albuetrol, about a week treatment. As soon as the muscle fasiculations started, I stopped both Accutane, and the Albuterol and the advair.

So here’s the issue now. I’ve been reading about fasiculations, and wherever I read they point to BFS or ALS. I’m very health anxious so immediately thought that I might in-fact have ALS. I didn’t notice any muscle weakness or any other symptoms at first , but because I worried about it, I began to go on jogs, and lift weights. I don’t ever workout so, after I did the exercises I was feeling kinda of sore. As the anxiety kept building up, I went to the urgent care doctor, there he told me my blood was good, however I was very dehydrated. I know when you’re dehydrated you don’t feel good and your body needs fluids. However, how long can you be dehydrated for and not know it? The fasiculations have been going on for little over a week now. 9 days to be exact. The second blood sample hasn’t came in yet. Any recommendations or help please! ANY!

I am a finalist in a contest to win a treadmill. You can vote 1x day through August 2nd. This boils down to a popularity contest, and I don’t have enough friends to help me win so I’m appealing to you for help.
