He did not like the idea about using a CPAP mask. Is this the ONLY treatment for sleep apnea? If it is, will he have to use it for the rest of his life?

Any body that uses something different? Thank you

I currently have a full face mask on my machine. I first started keeping it on all night; but lately I can’t . I would appreciate any ideas/suggestions to help with this slight “problem”.
I’m not sure why I can’t; sometimes I feel “closed in” when I have it on. My doctor suggested contacting my medical supply company & see about getting another mask–maybe it isn’t fitting right. I was wondering if there was anything else I could do, as well.

Anybody use a mask at night for sleep apnea?

My wife has sleep apnea and is getting fittted for a mask to help her sleep at night, anybody use one of these? Please give your opinion on the effectiveness of this device.

I’ve been officially diagnosed with sleep apnea in the mild to moderate range. I also suffer from depression (probably sleep deprivation induced) and insomnia (late to bed/early to rise). I sleep for between 3 to 5 hours a night. Obviously this isn’t enough sleep.

I’ve tried CPAP, but can’t get used to it, mainly due to my problems with insomnia (my mind has trouble being “quiet”). I have a hard time sleeping without the distraction of a CPAP, and WITH it…. it’s impossible for me to sleep. I litterally just DON’T SLEEP with it on. I’ve been trying for 2 months (seriously).

i use to be able to sleep on my own years ago until i started taking seroquel now i cant sleep without it. its like its my sleeping brain pill to help me sleep and if i dont take it i cant sleep. i been to hospitals and nobody can help me because some doctors say that i dont have sleep apnea

This sweet little angel of mine has some really bad breath after sleeping. Obviously not gingivitis, yet. What causes bad breath in kids during sleep? Daytime breath is fine.
Betty Boop, you appear to know exactly what I’m talking about!

Wicked whatever, are you serious? Why would I be so close to my daughter’s face when she is asleep? I’m sorry that you’ve lived a life that has left you with such issues.

i’ve had the machine for 3 to 4 months and at first it was fine. now at night water builds up or gets into the mask an drips into my nose when i roll over or runs across the top of my lip. it’s very disgusting and when it happens i rip the thing off in a half sleeping panic and it totally disturbs my sleep.

the machine is the kind that heats the hose with a copper wire and as usual, i put distilled water in the tank.

It’s not just the economy that keeps many of us wide-awake in the dark – although it certainly doesn’t help!

Sleep disorders are becoming more and more common in todays’ ‘hurry-hurry, busy-busy’ world. With so much to do, and so little time, sleep is starting to be seen as a luxury rather than a necessity. But your body disagrees wholeheartedly.

Sleep is absolutely necessary to your physical and emotional health, and when we don’t pay attention to our bodys’ need for our full 8 hours of sleep, there’s a price to pay.
