Anyone ever went for a sleep study? I have to go for one because i have sleep paralysis, wake up gasping and have troubles stay9ing a sleep. My doctor thinks i have obstructive sleep apnea. Is it horribly uncomfortable getting it done? Like could you sleep with all of those electrodes attached to you?

(my husband, son, daughter even my dog snores.) the dr wants my husband to go for a sleep study. he doesn’t have sleep apnea, because he never stops breathing when he’s snoring, it’s constant. my husband is scared to death and flat out refuses to go. I asked the doctor what they do IF sleep apnea is found and he said the person wears some kind of a device on their face, which upset my husband even greater than he all ready was.
I’m really confused as to why the Dr would want to put a patient through a sleep study, when the snoring doesn’t bother him or me, he doesn’t stop breathing in his sleep, and neither one of us is complaining about it.
He did not like the idea about using a CPAP mask. Is this the ONLY treatment for sleep apnea? If it is, will he have to use it for the rest of his life?
I just recently had a sleep study done to check for sleep apnea …. my doctor just called and left me a message that ” I had very mild sleep apnea which did not require the use of cpap but he had indications of severe depression”
Question; Does a sleep study alone provide information to make such a diagnosis??
